Town of West Union

Founded in 1845

Located in Steuben County, the Town of West Union is on the NY/PA border. Since its founding in 1845, small-town country living has thrived in West Union, New York. 

     Quiet country roads, small churches, friendly neighbors, and some of the best deer hunting in New York State, make living in West Union highly desirable. Nearby sport fishing, rich wildlife, and lush scenery only add to this small part of Western New York.

Monthly Board Meeting Summary

   The regular monthly meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Supervisor, Randy Heckman.  board members present were Linda Mullen, Larry McCaffrey, Wendy Potter.  Patty Irion was absent.  Community members were  Dale Neuenschwander, Marsha Mullen, Shannon Lewis, John Wallace, Tom Deveney, Mary Mullen and Mike Mulcaheyu to  from Inverergy.  The pledge was said by all in attendance.  Keep checking out the website for updates.  If you have any history you would like to share let a board member, Terry Smith or Ryan Heckman know and we will make arrangements to get in touch with you.  We would like as many memories as possible .  The minutes from the February 20, 2014 meeting were approved.  Mike Mulcahey spoke on the wind towers.  They would like 50 to 100 wind towers in the whole area including neighboring towns.  He answered any questions that the community or the bard had.  He will be keeping the town updated on the progress.  Dale Neuenschwander updated the board on the years and mileage of the trucks.  Marsha Mullen, Justice, gave an update.  Mary Mullen gave a tax collector report.  The highway and general vouchers were presented and approved.  The meeting was adjourned at 7:22pm.  Next board meeting will be April, 17, 2014 at 6:00 pm at the town hall.  Thank you to everyone that came out to the rabies clinic it was a huge success.
